New Year update
& Gabrielle on ‘Stillness’

Dear Dancers

thank you (namaste) emoji

The energy and presence in recent Friday classes has been rich and beautiful – the Thursday Rhythm Circle sessions have been deep and powerful: thank you all.

This year’s Re-Visioning 2023 New Year workshop is booking up, and promises to be phenomenal. So if you’d like to join us and haven’t yet signed up, you might want to do it soon rather than risk disappointment – read more and book online.

And don’t forget our New Year’s night 5 Rhythms Party – join us at St Michael’s for either the workshop, the party, or both (see below).

Meantime, four more Friday night classes until Christmas week – plus that last Solstice Dance session on Thursday 22nd December – again, a lovely group is already coming together (book online).

Stillness

The fifth of the 5 Rhythms…

“Finally comes stillness. The movement becomes inner, a feeling of empty fullness, of concentration, of vibrant presence. You move in slow motion, or you move and stop, move and stop, feeling your feet, your face, your hands, your total body. No longer is the movement the meditation, but the stillness between. It can look like mime or like break-dancing. Move and stop. Hold. Move and stop. The breath is strong, the vitality intense. The time is now, the place here. Every gesture total, measured, your body full of breath, your look direct.”
—Gabrielle Roth, “Maps to Ecstasy”
